Every so often, I'm asked a ton of questions reagarding the site. So I thought It'd be time to just let everyone know pretty much everything about it so that way I don't get a alot more e-mails asking the same thing.

 

Q: Do you guys make your own screenshots?

A: Yes we do. We use Mame and any other emulator that we play our games on and then take a quick shot by pressing the button that requires to do so.

 

Q: Do you pay your staffers?

A: This one gets asked alot. I currently do not pay my staffers because I have to worry about my own bills to pay. Plus, I also have to pay to keep the services for this site running (don't let the name Freewebs totally fool you). So it's mostly just volunteer work for the love of video games :). But that's not to say that I won't pay my staffers down the line...because I know I will...just not now ^_^.

 

Q: How do I join your staff?

A: That's easy! All you have to do is e-mail me or MattDDR (he's the assistant webmaster) and give us your knowledge about the old school games you like. If...keyword "IF"...you satisfy us then you'll be hired! However, you MUST be able to provide reviews through a certain amount of time (ie don't just make one review and then just disappear for a month or two), because if you can't/don't, then it was just a waste of our and yours time and you will be terminated. Also, you must have your own emulator or some other type of snapshot taking device to help provide pictures for your reviews.

 

Q: Why Luigi? And I kind of noticed a Double Dragon theme too.

A: Haha you noticed? Well I chose Luigi because he is my favorite all time video game character. Always was and always will be ^_^. Now as far as the Double Dragon stuff goes...well it's simple. I grew up with the series and it's by far the best beatemup series of all time! And action games is what I'm all about! Plus, I can really relate to my favorite DD character Billy....we're both really laid back and don't think of much but if rubbed the wrong way we'll snap. Plus, he wears my favorite color :).

 

Q: I totally disagree with your review of (insert game)!! You couldn't be more wrong!! You suck!

A: Then don't read them. It's as simple as that. Remember...reveiws are only based on opinion. It's not like we're sticking a gun to your head and demand you don't play Battletoads & Double Dragon (though you shouldn't). But keep in mind...this is a review site so chances are you're not going to agree with everything we say.

 

Q: Where do you get your content?

A: Well most of the stuff we make ourselves but I do sometimes go to the Double Dragon Dojo or TMK to pic up a pic or 2. But half the stuff I scan myself.

 

Q: You mentioned SMBHQ. What's your history and beef with them?

A: I used to be the graphics guy there and would provide them with pictures, My beef with them is that they NEVER gave me the freedom I wanted that the other staffers had. So anyways, the new prick webmaster, who's name is Sean Kelly, just went on a firing rampage ...and I was the first to go. And I think he did that was because I told him I wasn't going to put up with his crap that he posts on the VGF forums. But what's even worse, Jay, the original webmaster, was someone who I thought was a good friend of mine, apparently knew about this before hand and  when I confronted him, he did his best to avoid me! As a matter of fact, that douche still avoids me to this day...eventhough it's been over a year! But it doesn't matter, this site might not have all of the glitz and glamour of that site (it's still new afterall)...but it's still way more fun workin on this one than that one.

 

Q: Do you actually own any of the soundtracks that you put on the site? If so, how do I get them?

A: I sure do! You can get them off ebay...but they're starting to become more rare. So I would suggest going to the Galbadia Hotel and burn them onto a cd. It's just as good ^_^.
